HISTORY:  The Los Angeles Lithuanian American Community, spearheaded by then president Edmundas Kulikauskas, debuted the Lithuanian Fair in 1986 to celebrate Lithuanian pride, heritage and culture. This annual celebration is held in Los Angeles, California on the first weekend of October at the St. Casimir Lithuanian Catholic Church in the Silverlake area.

We wholeheartedly welcome everyone to the 36th Lithuanian Days celebration in Los Angeles, California! This is a wonderful event through which we continue to celebrate our dear and meaningful Lithuanian Days tradition. We gather here for a common goal, to nurture national and cultural values, celebrate the customs, encourage the language, promote national self-esteem and preserve our identity. With the national flag waving throughout the event, we welcome everyone to enjoy this beautiful holiday by meeting performers from Lithuania, and guests from different states in America.

Come enjoy the taste of the traditional food and drinks as you listen to the music of Lithuania and the folk-dance program. This is a beautiful event to admire the art and folk art as well as the amber jewelry and souvenirs.

For those who do not know, 2022 is the 100 year anniversary of Lithuanian basketball! As we know, basketball is the most popular sport in Lithuania. We can all agree our proudest achievements are thanks to those within the basketball league and many other athletes who have gained recognition throughout the world with their expanding representation of Lithuania. So don’t be surprised if you run into athletes at the event!

We should also remember to support Ukraine’s challenge to keep their identity and freedom. Lithuanian Days has invited Ukrainian performers as special guest for our program. We ask all to show our support at their performances and by visiting their booth with financial support.

The event itself is a great place to meet with friends and create new ones! We strongly encourage you to take part in the event with representation in your ideas, work, and suggestions. We thank the sponsors and volunteers of the festival, without whose help this festival would not exist.

We wish you a fun and memorable Lithuanian Days in Los Angeles.
