St. Casimir Lithuanian Saturday School of Los Angeles, founded in 1949 by Msgr. Jonas Kucingis, is one of the oldest Lithuanian Heritage Saturday schools in the United States, beginning its 77th school year. Recognized for its longevity and continued excellence by the Lithuanian Educational Council of the U.S. and Lithuania’s Ministry of Education, the school welcomes students from preschool through twelfth grade. The faculty includes several professional educators who have been awarded national Outstanding Educator and Amber Apple awards for excellence.

Currently, close to 100 students attend classes every Saturday from 9:00 AM to 1:15 PM. An informal Lithuanian conversation class for adults is also offered. Beyond academics, students participate in performances, commemorations, and have an opportunity to prepare for the Sacrament. The faculty, consisting of 20 teachers with advanced degrees, is led by Director Marytė Newsom, who has been dedicated to the school for over forty years. The Parent Committee plays a vital role in all aspects of school life.
