Danutė Biskienė has had a special connection with the accordion since the age of seven. Music has been a lifelong passion, with Lithuanian songs, folk music, and the spirit of community holding a particularly meaningful place in her musical journey.

 

Today, Danutė leads the Toronto Lithuanian folk music ensemble and serves as Music Director at the Kretinga and Romuva Lithuanian summer camps, where she shares her love of music with campers of all ages. She believes music has a unique way of bringing people together and warmly welcomes musicians and singers of all experience levels to join in, make music together, and experience the joy of Lithuanian song.

 

Through her enthusiasm, warmth, and dedication, Danutė continues to celebrate Lithuanian musical traditions, bring people together through music, and help pass this rich cultural heritage from one generation to the next.
