Nida Grigalavičiūtė

Nida Grigalavičiūtė, born in Klaipėda, is a distinguished soprano who graduated from the Lithuanian State Conservatory, Klaipeda Faculty, with a degree in music education and choral conducting. She began her career as a chorus artist at the Klaipėda Musical Theatre and later advanced to a soloist position. Since 2000, she has been residing in Chicago, USA, where she currently performs with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, teaches piano and vocal music to students of various ages, and curates concert programs. Notably, she prepared the soprano part for Verdi's "Requiem" with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Riccardo Muti.
In Lithuania, Nida was nominated for the prestigious "Kristoforas" award for her roles as Rosina and Michaela in "The Barber of Seville" and "Carmen." She also earned acclaim as a laureate of the S. Moniuszko International Vocal Competition in Poland. Throughout her career, she has collaborated with renowned conductors such as J. Domarkas, D. Anzollini, S. Sondeckis, S. Domarkas, V. Viržonis, A. Vasaitis, V. Gergiev, R. Muti, B. Haitink, V. Lukocius, and J. Geniušas.
In addition to her performance career, she has released several solo CDs and DVDs.
