St. Casimir Lithuanian School - Los Angeles
St. Casimir Lithuanian Heritage School of Los Angeles was founded in 1949 by Msgr. Jonas Kučingis and has been operating ever since, giving it the distinction of being the oldest Lithuanian Heritage School in the United States.
For its longevity and continued excellence, the school has been recognized by the U.S. Lithuanian Educational Council and the Ministry of Education of Lithuania. Presently 170 students attend classes from pre-K to 12th grade on Saturdays 9:00-1:15 during the school year. An adult language class is also offered. In addition to completing a formal academic program, students participate in performances, commemorations and festivals.
Preparation for the sacraments is also offered. SInce 1987 the school is headed by Maryte Newsom and a faculty of 25 teachers. We have been and continue to be a Little Lithuania and second home to children and families in the greater Los Angeles area.
