Kristina ir Penketukas
It was love (and music) at first sight for Kristina and Alexandre. From the instant they met, they have created numerous diverse musical projects, from a “Requiem“ (2010) that is now performed by choirs across the globe, to a CD of instrumental music for yoga and meditation (“Moksha” 2011). Inspired by children’s texts of Lithuanian poets, they created “Mano aitvaras skraido” (2013). The album quickly gained popularity. The song “Aš negaliu sustot dainuot“ was selected for the repertoire of the X North American Song Festival (Chicago 2015), was featured on the most popular morning show in Lithuania “Labas rytas, Lietuva”, and at the behest of many parents, they released a music book with accompanying karaoke CD. Together with the Penketukas girls, they toured throughout Canada, the US and Lithuania. Subsequently, they released another album in Lithuanian, “Namai” (2014), inspired by texts of poet Henrikas Nagys. Most recently, Kristina and Alexandre have released two albums in French: “Ta tête est folle” (2015) and “Toi Moi” (2019). Four singles found their way onto the charts of radio stations across Québec, and to date, the song “Corto Maltese” has exceeded 200,000 listens on Spotify.
Coming to you all the way from Montréal, at these 2019 LA LT Days, they will present two different sets of their original Lithuanian songs, one for children and one for youth/adults. In both cases, the show pulses with happiness and energy, tenderness and simplicity, youth and reverie. Kristina Kliorytė and her friends (from left: Lina Jaugelis-Zatkovic, Ariana Čičinskaitė- Castanheiro, Aleksa Beniušis, and Gabrielė Valevičiūtė) invite you to the wonderful, melodic world of composer Alexandre Stankevičius. It’s a celebration of friendship and life, just like these Lithuanian days!
