Antikvariniai Kašpirovskio Dantys - The band’s name and artwork have been tickling the ears of “jolly crazy” music lovers since 2006. Two friends decided to form a group. After a lengthy discussion, they chose a natural combination of words that was naturally unattractive, causing a long-term migraine for those trying to conjure up a deep- meaning of the group’s name - “Antique Kashpirovsky Teeth (AKD).”
AKD Teeth mischiefly breaks stereotype of currently favored music. Responding to today’s rhythm of life and attacking with vigorous energy and activity, musicians create the impression of romanticists and hooligans. Polka, post-punk and mariarchi, heart- wrenching ballads and psychedelic rehearsals help to sing today’s issues - crime, domestic realities, nonsensical fashion and, of course, love.
A symbol of the band and a member of honor, without which no show is worth - a gramophone made out of secret drawings. The smoke flowing from it frees the imagination and overflows the old truth and revelation of the wall of the Old Town of Vilnius, which takes on a new meaning in AKD’s lips: steampunk’s not dead!
In the early days of 2016, the video “To Venezuela” received numerous reviews in Venezuela, after Los dientes Antiguos de Kashpirovski gave an interview to the country’s press, and later recorded and released this song in Spanish. AKD won two M.A.M.A. awards - Breakthrough of the Year and Video of the Year. “To Venezuela” also became the top-rated work for viewers in the “Something Happened” video competition organized by the Spring Film Festival.
